What's the name of the wire with the black power box on it for an external DVD drive?
I need to replace the wire for an ext. dvd drive as it's lost but I can;t search for it as I don;t know what to call it. It's the one with the black rectange power box thing on it and the connector part is round with little silver prongs inside.
I think you are trying to describe "power adapter". Depending on your dvd drive you will need a specific one with specific current output. You should be able to find the power requirement at the back face of the dvd drive.

An external hard drive is an excellent way to store your digital data. Imagine if your computer is planted with a virus or got fried in a storm or power surge.
