Vintage Toys????
Did your parents save any of your old toys? If so what are they and if you have kids do they play with them? I still have all my fisher price toys like the school house with the bell on top, the farm house, click camera with the zoo pic's in it, the red apple that would chime when you move it and lots others. what about you, just courious.

yeah. I still have my teddy bear that I got for my first Christmas that was my favorite when i was litte. I think thats all I still have and I could never part with it and I am 20!

Memories of the Great Depression
Given the economic situation we are now I can not help but think the last depression. I was still a boy, but I knew that times were tough guys. I was born in the late 1930s and the Depression starts to give way to a more prosperous era, but for a young kid in rural Mississippi, is the time, anything but simple. I remember that Christmas I just want to get an apple, an orange, raisins, walnuts, raisins with stems and seeds and a small toy or two that I would not have been more proud.
I also remember wearing one gallon of milk and eggs in the school bus to school to to pay for lunch for weeks. Lunch at the time cost only 25 cents a day, but 25 cents was really hard to find. We lived about three miles outside the small town where I attended twelve years in school. There were 13 students in my class graduates and well now I can see how illiterate I was even after completing his secondary education.
As I mentioned past, we lived about three miles from the small town where I went to school. My parents were able to buy a small farm with 62 acres of land in the early 1940s. We have collected around two hectares of cotton and two hectares of maize each year we grow a manual plow and mule. In the spring we weeded with hoes and thin and chopped cotton and corn. In autumn we have chosen Cotton hand and pulled wheat grain throw in a bunch, as we later returned with a wagon pulled by two mules. We tossed the grain into the wagon and then lift the grain in the barn.
My dad has always raised a large garden where my mom picked vegetables in the summer for those canned winter. We have also raised cows, pigs and chickens we eat between frequent trips to the grocery store. We stirred the milk into butter and had only corn bread and biscuits. Bread was something we had no money.
During the summer, we picked black berries and plums, which my mother made jam and jelly, if we could get sugar.
That was the good Ole days when I had not enough left.
